Welcome to VAPS
Vietnamese American Private School
|
Nam My, Vietnamese American Private School (VAPS) has been established on Jun/2/2005 by Hochiminh City’s Decree 2728/QĐ-UB to offer the Vietnamese official Grade 6-12 curriculum and English Enrichment Program (EEP) modeled after the U.S. Grade 6-12 curriculum.
Nam My/VAPS has implemented the Texas-based American high school curriculum (Grades 9-12) leading to the obtainment of American high school diploma starting Fall 2008. This is a cooperation with University of Texas-High School (UTHS). UTHS is a unit with the University of Texas at Austin and accredited by Texas Educational Agency (TEA) and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). University of Texas, founded in 1883, is the most famous public university in Texas and ranked 44th in the top 100 Best American Colleges in 2008 according to U.S News& World Report.
Nam My students will be fully prepared to further their education in the U.S. as well as in other English-speaking countries at three different levels: high school, college and university.
Nam My students have three different curricular choices:
- American high school curriculum leading to the obtainment of a high school diploma issued by UTHS is the first choice. Numerous U.S. colleges and universities don’t require TOEFL/IELTS on international applicatants with U.S. high school diploma.
- The combination of the English Enrichment program and the Vietnamese official curriculum is the second choice. This choice prepares students to go to the U.S. to further their education from Grade 10.
- The Vietnamese official curriculum by itself is the third choice. Students will stay in Vietnam to pursue traditional domestic opportunities.
Nam My provides free-of-charge consultation to students and parents on what to do to attend schools in the U.S. from Grade 10 and beyond.
With the mission of “students as the focus of all activities” Nam My always meet international standards on facilities, faculty, teaching support and teaching methodology. Its students enjoy a high-quality curriculum and U.S. issued high school diploma that is accepted internationally.
The Board of Advisors and school administrators are international-education specialists who comprehend the American educational system as well as possess rich experiences of the inner workings of the Vietnamese educational system.
Nam My teachers are professionals who possess proper academic credentials and expertise in their field of teaching. Vietnamese Program teachers are selected based on such criteria as being a good teacher, dedication to the students and years of teaching experience. Non-Vietnamese teachers are selected using the same criteria plus consultation with our Board of American-Education Advisors.
Nam My facilities are new, modern, pleasant-looking, spacious and fully equipped by international standards. The School is located in District 8, in the center of the administrative governmental complex, next to a large fully-equipped public stadium and across the street from the Youths Center. The School is so blessed with being so close these entities that provide a rich and conducive environment for well rounded developments from intellect, character to physical fitness.
