Nam My International School – VAPS successfully held the first semester field trip for 150 students in Tien Giang province on November 15, 2009.
Our departure started at 6 o’ clock and we arrived in My Tho city – Tien Giang province about 8 am. During the mean time, the tour guides told about the historical scenery places in the Mekong Delta.
Passing the Trung Luong intersection, we came right into My Tho city tourist ship dock to get ready for the boat trip to Thoi Son island, one of the four legendary islands in the area. On the way riding there, we passed under one of the longest and most magnificent bridge – Rach Mieu Bridge - with the length of more than 8 km.
Students had a chance to see how beautiful and yummy coconut candies made by local residents with their own eyes.
After that, all of students took a rest at the local resident house garden to enjoy the variety of fruits and listened to the traditional folk songs – Ca Tai Tu. There were one group of students registering in advance to join one of the most unforgettable activities – Catching Fish. They caught so many fish and burned them with the local people and ate them with the lunch meals.
After lunch, students went by boat to visit the Phoenix island and made the English presentation about the trip. Thien Khue in grade 8 sucessfully competted the two seniors and won the trophy.

On the way back to Ho Chi Minh city, students dropped by Dong Tam Snake Farm while it was raining heavily. They were really eager to witness the real King Cobras and others put the big python around the neck for photo shots.

We backed to Ho Chi Minh city around 7:30 pm. It was really exciting and we had a lot of funs.
